jak & jil giving it up (for pamela love claw bracelet)

(images from jak & jil)

A few weeks ago I had gone to work with this bracelet on, and discovered when I got home, that the bracelet was not around my wrist. Panic set it! Did I leave it at work? Was it stolen? What the hell man? It was late when I noticed it missing, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to sleep not knowing where my bracelet was. So I made the hour long round trip back to work. As I got to my classroom a janitor was finishing up with cleaning and surprised to see running to my desk. It was sitting on my desk, right next to my computer. Safe. I love this bracelet. And it was worth the trip.

The Favor

I got an email from my friend Angel, asking me to do her a "HUGE" favor. (She really typed the word huge in all caps.) Anyway, when we think of huge favors- what comes to mind? Driving a U-Haul? Moving boxes up and down stairs? Basically stuff that sucks, right? The word favor implies that you're putting someone out. Well, she was styling a photo shoot at her house, and wanted to use some of my jewelry. Favor? Are you kidding? What's better than getting to participate in watching a model get all dolled up and piling jewelry on her? Count me in!!
Angel has collected a lot of vintage nighties over the years and we ending up pairing them with some less than delicate jewelry- Pamela Love, Bliss Lau, Hermes, and Eddie Borgo. Anyway, it was a blast- and here are a few images that I took (which are nowhere near as good as those of the photographer).

blissful leather & chains

So when it comes to jewelry, I've never sought anything of the delicate/lady-like variety. I'm much more drawn to "in yo' face" pieces. Naturally, that led me to Bliss Lau. Talk about stand out designs! I ordered the "riot" bracelet from Bona Drag. Upon arrival yesterday, it was love at first sight! Though it's bold, I think it'll be quite easy to incorporate into my wardrobe. Today I opted to pair it with something simple- denim and cotton. And now I think I need her "Hug me Tight" chain vest...
